Navigating Employee Mental Health And Substance Abuse Resources
This presentation will offer employees resources to properly recognize and assist employees presenting with stress, mental health and substance abuse issues.
Sam Vitiello
Sam Vitiello MA LADC
Sam is the Clinical Director at TEAM. Her background is in Marriage and Family
Therapy and Substance Use Disorders. She has spent most of her career working with
individuals in crisis, with co-occurring disorders and advocating for change in the
behavioral health system. Sam values personal growth but also the growth of her
community. She teaches at Metropolitan State University, and for the continuing
education program at Minneapolis College. She believes that knowledge is the best way
we can stomp stigma and get people the help that they deserve.
Joe Boyle
Joe is currently an EAP Counselor/Consultant with TEAM – MN where he has been a full time employee since mid – April of this year and was an on-site affiliate/ counselor for the prior 8 years. Most recently he was the USPS EAP Northland District Consultant and had been with the contract for twenty-two years, as well as a total of over thirty four years of experience in the design and delivery of EAP program, managed mental health, substance abuse treatment, organizational development and disability benefits services. He has demonstrated excellence in assessment & brief counseling services; development of trainings and orientations in both English & Spanish; management, supervisory & union consultations and he is also bilingual & bicultural Spanish speaking. His leadership strengths include skilled individual/group communications, delivery of wellness seminars, project management skills, critical incident stress debriefings/CIR, creative problem solving, and delivery of employee/supervisor/union training, coaching, personalized consulting and working as an On Demand Military Family Life Consultant. Joe worked as a laborer in the trades as a young man for several years in a variety of positions. Joe is married to his wife, Maria Isabel Mejia De Boyle, of thirty three years and they have four natural children and adopted another daughter. Joe has provided EAP consultation to a large number of national and international companies and has lived abroad in Mexico for a period of time.
