SELECTION PROCESS AND AWARDS
The authorized distribution for new awards is determined annually based on the amount of funds raised. Recipients will be selected based on a number of factors: work experience, activities, goals, financial need, and grade point average.
Applications must be received online or postmarked by April 30, 2017. All eligible applications are reviewed by a scholarship committee.
NOTIFICATION OF APPLICANTS
All applicants will be notified by May 30, 2017. Not all applicants will be selected as recipients. The award is not renewable; however, you may reapply to the program as long as you continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
All award checks will be issued by The Association of Women Contractors. The Academic Scholarship recipient check will be provided to your school in one installment prior to August 15, 2017. The check is made payable to the student’s school. Recipients are required to notify AWC of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information.
Apprenticeship awards are made payable to the apprentice directly as described above in “Selection Process and Awards”. Apprenticeship recipients will receive 50% of their scholarship initially and the remaining 50% upon completion of their next 1,000 hour mark.
The Association of Women Contractors reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program.
