J&L Steel & Electrical Services Certified in Wisconsin as Electrical DBE

J&L Steel CEO, LouAnne BergJ&L Steel & Electrical Services is pleased to announce it has received certification as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) for electrical products and services.

The WisDOT established the DBE program in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), 49 CFR Part 26. After two failed attempts to become certified through WisDOT, LouAnne Berg, owner and C.E.O., appealed to the U.S. DOT who ultimately overturned the WisDOT decision and ordered J&L Steel and Electrical Services be certified for the DBE program under the electrical NAICS codes.

“This is an excellent opportunity for our electrical division to participate in the DBE program in our home state. We have been certified in Minnesota for several years and are very pleased to be able to bid electrical DBE work in Wisconsin.” said Owner and CEO LouAnne Berg.
